A shot of a meadow with the rain falling over Canyon Village from the Cygnet Lakes trail, which I hiked two days ago. Luckily we missed the heavy part of it while we were out on the trail.
If you look VERY closely you can see a black bear. I promise it was bigger in real life. But at least now you have evidence that I truly saw one. This is near the Cygnet Lakes trail ending point.
Just a shot of Observation Peak. I began this hike today but didn't finish it. Just headed out on the trail near Cascade Lake and began towards the peak. A nice hike, but 11 miles and I didn't have that many miles in mind, so I decided to turn back after a nice snack of peanut butter properly smeared on my wheat crackers.
close enough to the black bear for me!! I wouldn't want you to be gobbled up! Those trees look sad.
ReplyDeleteHave you taken a run yet? Did they catch the other 2 fugitives?
Thanks for the updates...your fans love them!!
Again, glad you didn't become a bear snack!! I cna't remember if the hike we did was observation peak or not. We started out by the Geyser Basin, or maybe Biscuit Basin...
ReplyDeleteDo us a favor and check the water depth BEFORE jumping off anymore waterfalls!
I recruited you another fan today Sandy T. I am not sure she will become a follower, but she is going to read your blog...
Have fun!
... Next time I want to see the grill of that bear; teeth baring and in full attack mode. Anyone can add a few specks of black to a landscape image and call it a bear! Haha, I'm just kidding, glad to see that you did in-fact run into one during your ventures, though.
ReplyDeleteI like your waterfall pictures, they made me jealous ... but then I remembered that I was going to school here in a day and was no longer jealous, woo-hoo!
These Observation Pictures are pretty sweet as well, especially the one with the rain in the backgound drifting forebodingly. But um ... the trees ... what um ... happened to the trees here? I mean beautiful sky and mountain range, don't get me wrong ... but the trees?
Well, glad to see that you are still in pursuit of that ultimate goal of self-preservation and finding your zen.
Um ... oh yeah! Tomorrow at approximately 6:00pm I will be enduring my first night class (during the regular year excluding summer) without you. I will bottle the tears that will most undoubtedly be streaming from my eyes.
Keep on keepin' on!
